Thomas Clarke – Liberal Democrat Candidate for Romford Town ward

Thomas Clarke was born in Rush Green Hospital and has lived in Havering all of his life, currently with his wife and young son. He attended primary school in the Borough before being accepted to attend King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford – catching the train there every morning, he is an expert on public transport in and out of the area.

Thomas attended Brunel University in West London reading Film and Television Studies and achieving a BA Hons. Following graduation he worked as a freelance journalist on the TV titles of IPC Media and is now a full-time journalist for Golf Monthly magazine – joining the title in 2009.

Thomas does not only have a keen interest in golf – he is Chairman of Harold Wood Cricket Club and on the Management Committees of both the Essex Cricket League and Essex Sunday Cricket League. He also has a passion for football, which he follows avidly, and has a keen interest in the green spaces and wildlife in the borough.  Understanding how vital a role local community groups play, Thomas was one of the original members of the Friends of Harold Wood Parks.

Thomas has always voted Liberal Democrat, but became a member of the party following the EU Referendum of June 2016. He is now the Havering Liberal Democrats Membership Development Officer and is very keen to represent the local area that he knows so well and feels so passionate about.
