Haynes Park Litter Pick Crew

We took to Squirrels Heath ward last month.

Our committee and members spent the morning cleaning up Hayes Park and the surrounding area.

The successful morning left us reporting a mattress, a tyre and a lot of rubbish bags to the council.

Rubbish around Havering as reached breaking point with the return to socialising and picnics in the park.

In a year where we have seen the return of wildlife around the UK and world due to lock down, this should not be the case.

Havering council need to do more to protect the beautiful parks and greenery in Havering.

During our clean up we struggled to find bins and areas where locals can drop off their rubbish after a picnic.

This is one way Havering council can help the community and the environment.

If you want to get involved or have an issue in your area with litter let us know through our current survey https://haveringlibdems.org.uk/en/survey/survey-2021-22
